Matilija/Rose Valley Adventures

Sunny Saturday in Ventura County

After handling some visits to the school I will be attending this fall, I was left with a good impression from CSUCI's art program. It is the environment close to home that I was looking for. It was such a nice day I could not stay indoors today.
My friend Olivia has been traveling hardcore and has so many more miles to go. She asked it I wanted to go on a hike and of course I wanted to go out and explore. Her VooDoo doll hangs on.

After getting lost around Ojai we finally ended up on the right track.

We ended up having a beautiful hike on the Matilija Canyon

Hidden Beauty so close to home

It was windy out of the car but when we hiked in it was amazing.

Olivia getting kudos for not falling in

Leaving civilization behind

The water running down

What a meditative sound

So nice strolling through here

Little pools for you to enjoy, just look out for giant lizards that swim

Self Portrait below, can you see my hand?

the terrain

Had some fruits with us and we took a little break only to find abstract faces all around us

Im a big fan of "faces in places"

More faces in places

Made it back out to the car. It was a great hike. We had planned on hiking in and out for a certain while because we did not want to hike at night. Especially when theres so much wilderness around. Bears, Snakes,  etc all live out here.

Olivia's sister encountered a bear back in the day.

Study area out here

After the hike we actually ended up getting high. High up in altitude that is ;)

Up we went to our original destination

In my head I kept thinking "its going to be cloudy at the top."

We beat the clouds!

Here we floated atop the sea of clouds

It was nice and strange, but natures way of speaking towards us.

Olivian and I on top of the clouds

We made it to Rose Valley. Thanks for taking me out Olivia.

Had such a nice hike. This spring is feeling good to go on hikes. Hike Life!
